MORE ABOUT ME
A little more about me --
Welcome to Spare Threads! Where I have spare threads everywhere, on me, on quilts on the floor and on the furniture. How appropriately I’m named. I’m Debbie, the magician behind the scenes. It’s great to meet you!
I am a self taught quilter. I learned how to quilt in 2014. In 2015 I decided I wanted a longarm because I felt it was difficult to quilt on my domestic machine. I didn’t know much about them and took a leap and bought a used machine which was a Handiquilter. I had a lot of frustration learning to use it. But over the years I mastered the art. As a result I have upgraded everything I can on the machine (I’m not afraid of technology). I am a non-smoking and pet free home. Yes, my studio is in my home. I do my best to return your quilt to you with no allergens or smells.
I started my business when we lived in Evergreen, Colorado. but in 2018 we moved to Statesboro, Georgia to be closer to family (close but not too close). My business has bloomed since moving here. I’ve made many quilting friends and they are the best.
Anyone that knows me says I am very giving. It fills my heart to give. If you have any question (you know there’s no dumb question) ask me. I might give you more than you wanted to know, but I love helping you. That is the epitome of me, helping.
If you are around me, you may find me infectious in making you want to make another quilt. I can’t help it! It’s what I love to do and I love to share.
I know I have found my “Thing To Do” in life and I’m happy everyday that I get to quilt!
